Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Sports Star Honour

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the last year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The finalists were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.
The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.
The show will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.
These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being on the shortlist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Being nominated for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Perrin's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
