Netflix Selects Spot-On Actor for Mr. 2 in One Piece Third Season
The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed this week that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Mr. 2. This character possesses the power to transform into an perfect replica of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The actor, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that role reinterpreted as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, as in the original manga and anime.
The new cast member is joined by several other fresh additions tasked with bringing the organization to life, including head the main antagonist, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the lineup as the ruler of the desert kingdom.
Though Bon Clay is a major member of the group, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Given the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this signals a significant shift in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest more adjustments to the story’s structure.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the role. Along with their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.
The platform’s adapted One Piece program is set to return for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
