Just as Storm Claudia swept through the north-west the night before, Manchester City swept United away at the their home ground. It was a statement three-nil triumph for their manager's side due to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a display that clearly signaled their championship potential as they reinforced their position at the top of the table.

Consecutive Losses for United

This outcome represented back-to-back Women's Super League setbacks for Skinner's side for the maiden instance since spring 2024, leaving them a significant margin off the league leaders with their championship aspirations hanging by a thread.
